Sutro Backpack
Sutro Backpack
Named after the iconic communications tower atop Twin Peaks, the Sutro Backpack is our "business casual" alternative to the classic hardcore roll-top messenger backpack. As always, we started with our core design philosophy: Keep It Super Simple. We wanted the classic functionality of a roll-top — a ""stove pipe"" body that can be used wide-open for tall items (like mailing tubes and baguettes), or folded shut to keep out the elements. We opted for a single-fold flap with two buckles, and we eliminated noisy, garment-grabbing velcro.
Our in-house photographer requested the full-length side zipper for easy access to his camera — and this became everybody's favorite feature — perfect for immediate access to stuff that settles to the bottom of the bag without unbuckling the top. The opposite side features a water bottle pocket. The external zipper pocket provides separate storage and quick access for small items, like your wallet, keys and phone. We padded the shoulder straps and back panel for all-day comfort, and added a grab strap for hand-carry and hanging on a coat hook. The interior features a padded sleeve for your laptop computer, and a strip of velcro loop to attach an optional accessory pocket. The Sutro Backpack is the clear leader in our backpack line-up.
