Review for Large Sketch Moleskine Journal

As a sketch book, this is a bit finicky. It's paper is heavy and coated with something that repells water color and some inks. It's also extremely smooth, having no tooth at all. So it's tough to use some dry media on them as well. It doesn't tolerate many fountain pen inks either. Having pointed out it's weaknesses, I like them. I use Sakura Micron pens and Faber- Castell PITT Artist pens and they work very well. This is my primary use for these as a sketch book. I also use Rotring technical pens and graphite (mechanical pencil) and those work well also. Additionally 4B and 6B pencils seem the best and colored pencil works well also. So if you can handle a limited media sketch book, then this is a perfect size and a classic format. I like them and use them regularly.
