The medium VELO edition backpack features a sleek, minimalist design, inspired by everyday urban travel. High-quality YKK water-resistant urethane zippers provide easy access to the main compartment and outside organizational pocket. The exterior is fabricated using light-weight, waterproof X-Pac™ sail cloth, with a second layer of rugged Cordura nylon inside. The shoulder straps are fashioned from supple seatbelt webbing and the base is padded for comfort. Reflective accents and safety flasher attachment loops enhance nighttime visibility for cyclists and pedestrians. Inside the bag, there's a padded back-panel with an integral 13" laptop sleeve for a laptop or document stowage. The Velo Collection is made from scratch in our own San Francisco workshop.
"For the Velo Collection, I removed the 'flap' and replaced the traditional 'clip and rip', with a simple 'zip'. I love the convenient, quiet access these zippers provide — they're just perfect for quickly accessing your stuff when you're seated on a plane, train or bus. Zip it open, zip it shut — simple as that — and, the glossy water-resistant zippers protect your belongings from the elements. The seat belt webbing straps are comfortable, without all the fuss of the structured straps common on traditional outdoor gear. The subtle diamond pattern in the technical sail cloth gives the black fabric an architectural look, and the reflective accent stripe and logo providea visual 'pop' giving this bag a personality — and a subtle nod to our passion for urban cycling. I'd been using my medium Velo edition Backpack prototype on my daily bicycle commute and airplane trips the six months prior to launching, and it's everything I need."
